What aftercare is, why doms need it too, and how to plan it instead of hoping there is time for it.
Aftercare is what happens after the intense part: the time to come back down together. It is not a courtesy – it is part of the scene, and it belongs in the plan.
What it can look like
- A blanket, water, something sweet.
- Holding each other, quiet or talking.
- A bath, a massage, food.
- Checking marks, cooling, creams.
- For some: space, a little later, and a message the next day.
Ask – before the scene – what your partner needs. It can be very different from what you need.
Doms need it too
Leading a scene is demanding: attention, responsibility, sometimes doing things that are hard to do to someone you love. A dominant can drop as well. Aftercare is for both of you.
Plan it
When time runs out, aftercare is the first thing to get squeezed. So plan it:
- In Noxette, set the session rule “ends with aftercare” – the planner then always closes with it.
- Generated sessions end with a clean ending: toys off, restraints open, out of position – then aftercare.
- The next day, your sub can rate the session step by step. That is aftercare, too: a way to talk about what worked.
